High Speed Trains are coming !
The government has said that HS2 is going ahead, and that it will consult people on the preferred route for the extension connecting Birmingham to Sheffield and beyond in early 2014. I will put a link to the consultation here as soon as I know the url.
The report on the initial consultation¬ (Click report) gave "Sheffield" 14 mentions, and indeed, most of the respondents seem to have been from people on the route...
... so if, as appears on the initial maps, the proposed new line goes through Ecclesfield, it might be important for us to register our comments.
